World Premiere - Teacups & Tentacles

New Snappy Opera to receive it's World Premiere in Hull.

Mahogany Opera's new Snappy Opera, Teacups & Tentacles, is to receive it's World Premiere in November 2021, in a special performance as part of the Year of Snappy Operas. With music by Raymond Yiu and libretto by Russell Plows, this new Snappy Opera was developed remotely, during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, with a Year 5 class from Kingswood Parks Primary School in Hull. The same children, now in Year 6, will perform the new commission as part of a city wide Snappy Opera project in partnership with Hull Music Service.

The performance will take place on Monday 15th November 2021 at The Albemarle Music Centre in Hull.

This will form part of of a week of performances, with other Snappy Operas including Peck!, The Feast That Went Off With A Bang, The Itch-Witch, The Lighthouse Wave and The Magical Music Tree, being performed in schools across the city.
If you would like to know more, or wish to attend the performance, please email
