Bridget Rennie appointed as new Executive Director

We are delighted to announce that Bridget Rennie will take up the position of Executive Director at Mahogany Opera, starting at the beginning of December.

Bridget Rennie joins us after five years as Co-Executive Director at Streetwise Opera. With a background in strategic planning, change management and fundraising, Bridget together with Artistic Director Frederic Wake-Walker, will lead the company on a journey of renewed growth and development.

I am passionate about new music and opera, supporting artists and the power of the arts to connect and inspire us — all things at which Mahogany Opera excels, so I’m delighted to be joining the team as Executive Director. I’m looking forward to working with Freddie, the Board and the team to lead the company in this exciting new chapter.
Bridget Rennie, New Executive Director
I’m really looking forward to working together with Bridget to develop and expand the work we do at Mahogany. I know I will learn lots from her and I believe everyone connected with Mahogany — the team, artists and participants — will benefit greatly from Bridget’s experience and passion for creating transformational experiences of opera. I’m hugely excited about the future for Mahogany Opera.
Frederic Wake-Walker, Artistic Director
Following an extensive, absorbing and thorough recruitment, my fellow Trustees and I heartily welcome Bridget to this role with Mahogany. She comes to us with extensive and fitting experience, following her years with Streetwise Opera whose values we share and embrace. Working closely with our Artistic Director, her strategic planning and fundraising background offer a sound and sustainable future for the Company.
