Bridget Rennie appointed as new Executive Director

I am pas­sion­ate about new music and opera, sup­port­ing artists and the pow­er of the arts to con­nect and inspire us — all things at which Mahogany Opera excels, so I’m delight­ed to be join­ing the team as Exec­u­tive Direc­tor. I’m look­ing for­ward to work­ing with Fred­die, the Board and the team to lead the com­pa­ny in this excit­ing new chapter.

I’m real­ly look­ing for­ward to work­ing togeth­er with Brid­get to devel­op and expand the work we do at Mahogany. I know I will learn lots from her and I believe every­one con­nect­ed with Mahogany — the team, artists and par­tic­i­pants — will ben­e­fit great­ly from Bridget’s expe­ri­ence and pas­sion for cre­at­ing trans­for­ma­tion­al expe­ri­ences of opera. Fol­low­ing an exten­sive, absorb­ing and thor­ough recruit­ment, my fel­low Trustees and I hearti­ly wel­come Brid­get to this role with Mahogany. She comes to us with exten­sive and fit­ting expe­ri­ence, fol­low­ing her years with Street­wise Opera whose val­ues we share and embrace. Work­ing close­ly with our Artis­tic Direc­tor, her strate­gic plan­ning and fundrais­ing back­ground offer a sound and sus­tain­able future for the Company.
