Toria (she/her) is a writer, director and producer, and co-founder of Hera, an intersectional feminist opera company. She has directed projects for Hera including Generation (2019), and We Ask These Questions of Everybody (2021), a critically acclaimed digital opera about disabled experience and the DWP for which she also wrote the verbatim libretto. She translated/adapted the text of Out of Her Mouth, a co-production with Dunedin Consort and Mahogany Opera, and wrote a new text for Haydn’s Ariadne cantata for Opera UpClose (both 2023). Current projects include, Mostly Human, a new opera for Twitch in partnership with Michigan State University, workshopped in the UK in 2024. Before Hera, Toria taught acting as Resident Director at Trinity Laban and as senior tutor on the Foundation Acting course at Arts Ed. She has also written three plays for rural touring.
