Errollyn Wallen

Errollyn Wallen MBE is a renowned composer, librettist and singer-songwriter. Her music includes 14½ operas and has won numerous awards including the Ivor Novello Award for Classical Music and a British Composer Award. She was commissioned to write two largescale works for the London 2012 Paralympic Games opening ceremony. Errollyn founded Orchestra X whose recently released album, PHOTOGRAPHY (on NMC label), was voted in Top Ten Classical Albums of 2016 by USA’s National Public Radio. Orchestra X will perform her Mighty River a part of the New Music Biennial at Hull UK City of Culture 2017, Southbank Centre and in Oxford. Errollyn’s music has the honour of travelling 7.84 million kilometres in space on NASA’s STS115 mission. Errollyn was awarded the MBE in 2007 for services to music and in 2015 was inaugurated as an Honorary Fellow of Mansfield College, Oxford.
