Bethany Tennick

Composer

Bethany Tennick (she/they) is a composer and lyricist based in Paisley. Since graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland she has composed the music for works such as Thread: A New Musical (One Ren, 2022), Land (Gilded Balloon Patter Hoose, 2022), Beau and the Snow Fairy (One Ren, PACE, 2023), and Welcome to Serene, co-written with Iona Ramsay, which won the New Music Theatre Award for 2024. Iona and Bethany’s new musical Hysterica was recently developed through Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Capital Theatre’s New Musicals Commissioning Hub. As a performer, Bethany has toured the UK, performed off-West End and off-Broadway, and was nominated for Best Performer in a Musical for the role she originated in Islander. You can hear Bethany as a featured vocalist on cast albums like ‘Islander’ (Helen Milne Productions), ‘A Mother’s Song’ (Kate Taylor Productions), and ’The 306’ (National Theatre of Scotland).
