Yfat Soul Zisso
Soprano
Soul is a composer and singer. As a singer (soprano), she specialises in contemporary repertoire, particularly pieces for solo unaccompanied voice (including Berio's Sequenza III for female voice) and those containing extended techniques (including quarter-tones). She was a member of the Via Nova chamber choir and BBC National Chorus of Wales (as well as many other choirs over the years), and has performed as both soloist and choral singer across the UK, including with Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, at the Wigmore Hall, and at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, as well as abroad. Soul is committed to promoting new music, which includes premiering many new pieces, particularly ones for solo unaccompanied voice. She studies singing with contemporary specialist Wendy Nieper.
In addition to singing, Soul is also a composer, having recently completed her composition PhD at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
