Megan Nelson
Regional coordinator
Megan Nelson was born & raised in Cumbria and now lives in Yorkshire. She studied music at the University of Huddersfield before undertaking an internship in the Planning Department at Opera North. Megan has been Casting & Scheduling Administrator at Opera North since 2011 working closely with guest directors & conductors as well as all departments across the company. She is currently project manager for the annual ON residency for the Young Artists from the National Opera Studio, for whom she is also sits on the panel for auditions for each year’s intake.
Megan attended the Opera Europa Opera Management Course in Spain in 2015 and has also been a member of the Jury for the final rounds of singing competition, By Voice Alone.
A keen amateur singer, Megan sings with Huddersfield Choral Society & manages their Twitter account. She is equally at home in the kitchen cooking as she is up a fell in the Lake District.
