Lighting Designer

Jodi Rabinowitz is an experimental lighting, video and scenographic designer working across theatre, live performance, immersive experiences, film and television. Originally from Sydney and now based in London, they trained in Visual Design at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), specialising in scenography and developing an interdisciplinary approach that integrates light, video and space into a unified visual language.

Their practice is driven by dramaturgy, site-responsive design and the relationship between audiences and performance environments. Working across new writing, musicals, opera, immersive performance and devised work, Jodi creates visually distinctive worlds that respond to the architecture, context and narrative of each production.

Recent credits include The Land We Shared (Théâtre de la Ville Luxembourg), The Rapping Princess (Polka Theatre), The Spectacular (Camden People's Theatre), Split Ends (UK Tour), NADI (The Place), I, Daniel Blake (Associate Lighting Designer, Northern Stage), Leoni Da Tastiera (The Place), Generator (ThickSkin), A Very Expensive Poison and Sweeney Todd (Mountview), Doomers (Rose Lipman Building), Stars (Associate Lighting Designer, Tamasha), Derry Boys (Theatre503), and Apologies (London Youth Theatre).

Upcoming projects include What's the Fcking Point?* (Bristol Old Vic), Being (B)old (Shoreditch Town Hall), and What Animals Say (Finborough Theatre).
