Jessica Leary
Music Director
Jessica trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and now combines a successful career as a professional soprano, music educator, and choral conductor. As a professional soprano, she has performed across the UK and in Europe with companies including the Scottish Opera, Grange Park Opera, Iford Opera, Aldeburgh, Bayreuth Festival Opera, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, The Dunedin Consort, and Edinburgh International Festival. Alongside her career as a professional soprano, Jessica is a visiting vocal teacher at The Mary Erskine School (Edinburgh), and at the Universities of St Andrews and Edinburgh. As a choral conductor, she has directed various community choirs in the Edinburgh region and has worked with the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the RSNO Junior Chorus. Jessica is also an examiner for the Associated Board for the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), with whom she examines both in the UK and internationally. Jessica is passionate about music education and is thrilled to be joining the team for Snappy Operas in Edinburgh!
