Jennifer Muteteli
Associate Director
Jennifer Muteteli is an artist, director and curator of British and Rwandan heritage whose practice creates the conditions for transformation. Working across performance, opera, site-responsive art and collective creation, she designs immersive artistic frameworks that invite people to encounter themselves, each other and the living world in new ways. Rooted in the understanding that we are nature, her work weaves together embodied practice, ritual, dramaturgy and spatial design to cultivate experiences of presence, embodied knowing and collective imagination.
Jennifer is Director of The Beekeepers Cultural Association in southern Portugal, where she has conceived, curated and led multidisciplinary residencies with hundreds of artists from across Europe. Together they have created living artistic environments where ecology, landscape and community become collaborators in the creative process. Her work reflects a commitment to artistic innovation, ecological awareness and cultural exchange.
Whether directing, performing or consulting, Jennifer is drawn to the underlying structures that allow creativity to flourish, devising bespoke processes that enable artists and organisations to discover what is true for them. She creates encounters where intuition, trust and collective imagination foster transformation, giving rise to new ways of making art—and new ways of experiencing ourselves.
Her practice is guided by a sensitivity to the moments when artistic expression feels deeply alive, trusting that meaningful work emerges through attention, intuition and collective care.
