Claire Willoughby

Theatremaker

Claire Eliza Willoughby is a theatre maker, musician and performer based in Glasgow. After graduating from Glasgow University in Joint Music and Theatre she continued training at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris, as well as with the Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble and Marissa Carnesky’s Finishing School for Cabaret Artists.

Claire has worked with Catherine Wheels, Magnetic North, the National Theatre of Scotland and Liz Carr amongst others, and presented work at the Southbank Centre, The Tramway (Glasgow) and at Melbourne Comedy Festival. She has been awarded a Dewar Arts Award, IdeasTap Innovators Award, Michael Grandage Futures Fund and National Theatre of Scotland’s Starter Award. Claire was a Jerwood Fellow with Imaginate and Oily Cart from 2020 - 2022.
