Alys Roberts
Soprano
Alys studied at the Royal Academy of Music and is an alumna of the Samling Academy. Her roles include Polly Peachum The Beggar’s Opera (Mid Wales Opera), Tweedledee Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Tiny Tim/Fan A Christmas Carol (Opera Holland Park), Muse Hedd Wyn (WNO), Euridice Orphée aux Enfers, Barbarina Le Nozze di Figaro, Pannochka May Night, Amore/Damigella L’incoronazione di Poppea, Sandman/Dew Fairy Hänsel und Gretel, and Yum Yum The Mikado.
Most recently, Alys appeared as Flora in a critically-acclaimed new film of The Turn of the Screw, Second Woman Margot la Rouge for OHP, and the title role in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel for ETO. Her 22/23 season begins with returns to Mid Wales Opera as The Princess in Montsalvatge’s El Gato Con Botas (Puss in Boots) and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel).
