New Executive Director role with Mahogany Opera

The Board of Mahogany Opera invites applications for the post of Executive Director to lead the company forward into our next significant phase and to realise our aims and potential.

We welcome candidates:

  • who will bring their own personality to the organisation
  • who will forge a close and fruitful creative partnership with Artistic Director, Frederic Wake-Walker, to mould the future of the company
  • who will be dynamic and organised, able to bring an inspiring mind and a steady hand
  • who will join and guide a close team of staff and trustees who value collaboration and team spirit

This is a compelling moment to join Mahogany Opera as we embark on a renewed journey of growth and development, following a period of consolidation. The Executive Director will play a crucial role in capitalising on opportunities to expand our national and international reach, to deepen relationships with collaborators and partners, and to establish Mahogany Opera as a vital space (both physically and digitally) for creative exchange and systemic change across the opera sector and beyond.

Mahogany Opera values diverse perspectives and welcomes applications from a broad range of candidates. Love of music and theatre with a passion for Mahogany Opera's work and values are important, though expert knowledge of contemporary opera is not essential. Transferrable skills from other art forms or sectors will be welcomed with interest.

With the Board, the team is geographically spread, working remotely, co-operatively and flexibly as a group. The Executive Director may be based anywhere in the UK.

Full details of how to apply can be found in the Recruitment pack (download below).

Application deadline - Thursday 16 September 2021, 5pm

We look forward to hearing from you!
